HAROLD M. ALLEN
Harold M. Allen of White Salmon died Monday. He was 77.
Mr. Allen was born May 19, 1915 in Eugene, Ore. to Ethel and Bryan Allen. He moved to White Salmon
and married Hazel Stott in 1942. He ran a beef ranch for a number of years.
During World War II he ran a dairy farm in Vancouver. After the war he worked for Hollenbeck Lumber Co;
then in the woods until 1963. He farmed until retiring in 1951. He enjoyed traveling. He was preceded in death
by his wife in 1988.
He is survived by his sons, Robert Allen of White Salmon and Fred Dollar of Stevenson; 10 grandchildren
and 12 great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday at White Salmon Cemetery.

HAZEL I. ALLEN
Hazel I. Allen, a former White Salmon resident, died Saturday in Ilwaco, at the age of 72.
Mrs. Allen was born in July 3, 1916, in Walla Walla, to Cage and Ethel Reed Scott. She received her schooling
at Mt. Hood School and Parkdale, Ore. She married Harold M. Allen on April 18, 1942, in White Salmon, where
they established their first home. She lived in White Salmon until five years ago when she moved to Ocean Park.
She was a homemaker and loving, caring mother, who liked to work with her hands doing crafts and gardening.
She also loved to the beach and did a lot of beachcombing.
She is survived by her husband, Harold, Ocean Park; two sons Fred Dollar of Carson and Robert Allen of
White Salmon; four sisters Violet Bailey, Vancouver, Margaret Butterfield, Redmond, Ore., Lena Ramsay Bend,
Ore., and Della Yarnell, White Salmon; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the White Salmon Cemetery. Arrangements were made by
Penttila's Chapel by the Sea in Long Beach.

SERVICE HELD SATURDAY FOR CAGER M. STOTT
Cager M. Stott, who suffered a stroke October 18th, passed away at Skyline Hospital November 2, at the age of
78 years, 10 months and 1 day.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 4th at Gardners Chapel, with the
Rev. Alfred Palmer officiating. Burial was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Mr. Stott was born January 1, 1883 in Des Moines, Iowa. His early adulthood was spent in Eastern Oregon.
On February 4, 1906, he was married to Ethel Iola Reed, in Millton-Freewater, Oregon.
The family moved to the Hood River Valley about 1920, and to B.Z. Corners in 1934. Mr. Stott
spent many years working in sawmills despite the fact he lost his right arm in a mill accident in 1925.
Prior to retiring from a mill work, he and his wife built a home on E. St. where friends are always welcome.
He is survived by his wife Ethel of White Salmon; five daughters, Hazel Allen and Della Yarnell both of
White Salmon, Violet Bailey of Lyle, Margaret Butterfield of Redmond, Oregon and Lena Ramsay of Bend, Oregon. Also 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Six grandsons served as casket bearers: Keith and Elvin Butterfield, Marion and Robert Allen, Raymond Yarnell
and Fred Dollar. The eldest grandson Russell Bailey, was unable to serve because of a broken leg,
and three boys are in the armed services.
A coffee hour was held at the Wesleyan Hall of the Methodist Church. Coffee was poured by Bernadine Dean
tea by Della Yarnell.

ETHEL I. STOTT
Ethel I. Stott, a homemaker from White Salmon, died Dec. 4 in Vancouver at age 91.
She was born March 24, 1888, in Silverton, Ore., to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Reed.
She is survived by five daughters, Violet Bailey, and Hazel Allen, both of White Salmon,
Della Yarnell, Bingen, Margaret Butterfield, Redmond, Ore., and Lena Ramsey, Bend, Ore.; two sisters,
Thelma Spencer, Redding, Calif., and Gladys Ryan, Mt. Hood, Ore.; 19 grandchildren;
and 42 great-grandchildren.
Rev. Floyd Green conducted funeral services for Mrs. Stott Saturday at Gardner Funeral Home.
Burial was at the cemetery in White Salmon.
